The body of former NFL wide receiver James Hardy III was identified Thursday after being pulled out of the Maumee River in Fort Wayne, Ind. on Wednesday, according to Fort Wayne's NBC. The Allen County Coroner's Office identified his body after a plant worker discovered his body in a log jam.

He played for the Buffalo Bills from 2008-10, then played for the Baltimore Ravens in 2011, though he never took a snap for the team. He attempted to play in the Arena Football League in 2012 and 2013.Hardy was born in Fort Wayne and attended high school at Fort Wayne Elmhurst before starring at Indiana University. The Patriots did not trade Jimmy Garoppolo this offseason, but they could lose him next year.
